Payments reported by the pharmaceutical industry in Ireland from 2015 to 2019: An observational study

Access to Medicines member, James Larkin co-wrote an article outlining €163 million in payments to Irish hospitals, universities and healthcare professionals in Ireland. The study claims that these payments might create a conflict of interest where the recipient prioritises the money over patient care or healthcare advocacy. This may lead to healthcare leaders being less willing to criticise systems and policies that benefit pharmaceutical companies but hinder access to medicines.
